My Art Gallery
This was a part of a project where we learned how to use Photoshop, we were challenged to make Surrealist art with either 4 or more images incorporated into one final image. This project taught me a lot about photoshop and gave me a new appreciation for those who create amazing art with Photoshop. The project was a great experience and I would love to do this again for another project! I wanted to make this look like an old photo but have some fantasy vibes to it, and I think it turned out just as I wanted it to!
This project was a rollercoaster of emotions in every right way! I got to do something that I have never done before, and never thought I could do. By far my favourite assignment has to be the portrait paintings. The portrait painting really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I love the end result! The Slide show is to show the steps that I had taken while doing the portrait painting assignment.
During the past few months the VAM Academy has been working on things like the "Who Am I?" project and portrait paintings. The "Who Am I" project really showed who I am as an Artist and as a person. There is some really significant symbolism in this piece. For example the Giraffe in the bottom left hand corner, that is meant to represent my Mother. She has and will always be the most important thing in my life, and I wanted to show how much she affects me and my life. Another example would be the "torn" page in the bottom right corner. Although its not as significant as the Giraffe, its still apart of me. The book this page is "torn" from is the first of an amazing trilogy called "The Maze Runner". This project got me thinking about what made me, well me. And I loved the process of it!
Recently my art academy went on a trip to an old abandoned ghost town near us called Rowley. Rowley is an old ghost town that some people still live in. There was an Orange Cat that my academy class dubbed "Thackery" like Thackery Binks from Hocus Pocus. The abandoned buildings made it seem like we were in a post-apocalyptic video game, and it was great. Once you step foot on the ground at Rowley, you'll never want to leave!
While on the Rowley trip we were also worked with the CAPA Academy to create a student film. The VAM students were the camera crew and the CAPA students were the Actors. This was such a fun and educational experience! It was such a fun process, filming the shots and editing it to make it look how we wanted it to look.
